Our History

In 1936, Victor Spencer and Cecil Armstrong opened Spencer and Armstrong Funeral Home, expanding their business in the decades that followed. After Victor’s death, Gary and Julie Owen purchased the funeral home in 1977 and changed the name to Spencer-Owen Funeral Home. In 1984, the business was sold to the Vertin family, a third-generation funeral service family out of Breckenridge. The current Spencer-Owen Funeral Home facility opened its doors in 1996.
