Violet Josephine Velta

Violet Josephine Velta, age 92, of Bass Lake, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Pathstone Assisted Living in Mankato, MN.  Funeral Service will be held at 1PM on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Winnebago, MN with Rev. Durene Cornell presiding.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will take place at Bass Lake Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left at www.spencerowen.com.   Violet was born on January 5, 1925 to George and Rose Soley in Jordan, MN.  She graduated with a degree in Cosmetology from Johnson Beauty School of Mankato.  Violet met Leonard Velta after graduating from beauty school.  The two were united in marriage on September 12, 1948.  After their marriage, the couple moved to the Velta family farm in Bass Lake, MN.  Since 2011, Violet had been living in Garden Court Apartments of Winnebago, MN until her move to Pathstone Assisted Living in 2017.   Violet is survived by her children, Bruce (Tammy) Velta, Carol (Rick) Nase, Peggy (Dale) Forsythe; grandchildren, Matt Nase, Chad Velta, Jeremy Nase, Abby Olson, Stephanie Henderson, Hannah Forsythe, Cullen Forsythe, Brittany Nase; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Soley, Charles Soley; and many other loving relatives and friends.   Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; and siblings, June, Blanche, Harold, Alice, Denelda, and Edwin.
