Sharon Kay Phillips, age 84 of Amboy, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held Sunday July 23, from 12:00-3:00 at Linda's Place (one of Sharon's favorite places) in Amboy MN. Everyone is welcome to join the family for a visit and bite to eat.
Sharon was born on March 4, 1939 in Blue Earth, to Everett and Merle (Guy) Rorman. She graduated from Amboy Schools in 1957. For many years, Sharon worked for and was dedicated to assisting seniors in Amboy, and was involved at the Amboy United Methodist Church and with local elections. Sharon enjoyed gardening and birdwatching. She also loved to watch the MN Timberwolves. Most of all, Sharon adored her family. She took so much pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved them dearly.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jamie (Bill) Moyles of Duluth, Georgia, and Bruce (Joanne) Phillips of Bridgeport, NY; sister and best friend Bonnie Cooper of Amboy; grandchildren, Laura (Jeffrey) Hobbs, Alyssa (Nolan) McCarthy, Riley Phillips, and Jacob Phillips; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr. “JJ” and Theodore Hobbs, Maxleigh and Maverick McCarthy, and Wells Tetrault; niece, Holli (Sam) Gruttadauria and Jill Phillips; nephews, Gary (Tami) Rorman, Troy (Fran) Rorman, Bret (Jane) Rorman, and Jimmie Cooper.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Merle; and her brother, Mack Rorman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
