Norma Jenkins Blair of Winnebago, died February 8, 2018 at Heartland Senior Living, Parker Oaks, Winnebago, from heart failure. She was born October 29, 1925 to Lloyd and Gladys (Hemingway) Sonnicksen. She attended school in Winnebago and graduated in 1943. She attended school in the Twin Cities and then worked for the Army Signal Corps in Washington D.C. during WWII. She also worked in the office of the Dayton Co and Stablely Co. She married Guy Carlile Jenkins on October 5, 1946, to this union a son Gary Grover Jenkins was born. They lived in Rochester 7 years, and 2 years in Mapleton. They moved to Winnebago in 1955 where they owned and operated Jenkins Sheet metal, Plumbing and heating for over 30 years. Norma spent 28 winters in Mesa, Arizona. Guy died October 1, 1992. Norma married Bailey Blair on June 28, 2003, they later divorced. Her son Gary died September 17, 2010. Norma is survived by her sisters, Dolores Detlefsen (Roy), Betty Franzen; brother Donald (Jeanne) Sonnicksen; many nieces, nephews, great and great grand nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guy; son, Gary; sisters, Marian and Margaret and brother, Harold. A Memorial Service and graveside committal will occur in the spring at Basey Methodist Cemetery. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
