Maria "Shorty" L. Schoneck

Maria ”Shorty”  Schoneck, age 67, of Amboy, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Albert Lea after a long battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 14, 2019 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Vernon Center with Rev. Vogel officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Sunday October 13 at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be left at www.spencerowen.com.

Maria Lane was born on February 25, 1952 in North Island, California to Forrest and Evelyn (Theobald) Waterbury. She married David Schoneck on February 14, 1976 at the Presbyterian Church in Amboy.

Maria enjoyed traveling to Branson annually. She also loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Jennifer (Kris) Bishop of Casa Grande, AZ, and Lanie (Scott) Covey of Mapleton; brothers, Paul and Steve; sisters, Christy, Kathy, and Allision; mother-in-law, Pat Schoneck; and two grandchildren, J.D. and Maci Covey.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Pat; sister, Mona; and father-in-law, Dennis Schoneck.
