Lucille Dorothy Sorenson, age 90, passed away on February 13, 2018, at the Mapleton Community Home. Memorial services will be held on 11:00 AM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Jackson Lake Lutheran Church in Amboy, with Rev. Todd Substad officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Jackson Lake Lutheran Cemetery, Amboy. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home of Winnebago is assisting the family with the arrangements. Lucille was born December 30, 1927 in Shelby Township to the late Erwin and Ella (Ulrich) Boeck. She graduated from Amboy High School. In 1955 she married Norton Sorenson with whom she built a loving family over the fifty nine years they shared before his death in 2014. While raising her children, Lucille worked part time as a bookkeeper and was very involved in a variety of activities at Jackson Lake Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and growing plants. Lucille is survived by her sister, Gladys Wolters of Belmond, Iowa; children, daughter, Sharon (Mark) Peck of Apple Valley, Minnesota, daughter, Diane (Don) Erickson of Bel Air, Maryland, son, Michael Sorenson of Mankato, Minnesota; Grandchildren, Chelsea (Patrick) Bradshaw, Kaitlin (Nate) Ryan, Chad (Lauren) Erickson and Cody Peck; great grandchildren, Zachariah, Emery and Norton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Norton, parents, Erwin and Ella Boeck, sister, Elta Pederson, brothers, Melburn Boeck, Ronald Boeck and Delphin Boeck. Memorials may be made to Mapleton Community Home Chapel Fund or donor’s choice.
