Diana M. Robertson, age 88, died at St. Luke’s Care Center in Blue Earth, MN on May 30, 2023. She now abides peacefully in her heavenly home. Born to Hazel and Leith Sinn on Sept 7, 1934, Diana and her three brothers (Edward, William, and Herman) grew up in the Blue Earth area. Diana married John L. (Jack) Robertson on June 21, 1952. They had four children, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, all well loved: Darrel (partner Donna Bergren), father of Ian (Brittany) and Ashley (fiancé Ian Jordan); Dean (Jackie), parents of Matthew (Becky and son Floyd) and Amanda; Denise (partner Jeff Kiger), mother of Ty Quint and Lydia Kaiser (Landon and daughter Cecilia); and David (Roxanne), parents of Erica (daughter Myah Jay) and Rachel (son David James (D.J.)). Diana also enjoyed a special lifelong relationship with several cousins from the Blue Earth area. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Edward and Herman), and her beloved husband, Jack.
Known to many as Queenie and a few as Dicey, Diana was fun-loving and had a sense of adventure. She liked to play cards (often for pennies) and games (sometimes for dimes), do jigsaw puzzles, read, travel, and talk with others. Diana greatly enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on a lake in northern Wisconsin. Her life was blessed with numerous extended family members, neighbors, and friends in the Blue Earth, Winnebago, and Huntley areas, as well as many cabin neighbors. Diana was generous with her time, devoting countless volunteer hours to various organizations, including Parker Oaks Senior Living in Winnebago, United Hospital District Hospice in the Blue Earth area, and Next to New thrift store, affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago. She was an avid patron of the Muir Library in Winnebago and a regular customer at the Huntley Cafe.
A memorial service will be held Saturday July 22 at First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago. Visitation will be 10-11AM followed by the service at 11AM in honor of Diana’s life well lived . Her family appreciates all the people who reached out to Diana or held her in their thoughts and prayers over the years, especially during the past few years as her health began to decline. Thank you for that support.
