Della Marie Haroldson

Della Marie Haroldson, age 80, of Amboy, was called to Heaven on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at MCHS in Mankato. Visitation time will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Spencer Owen Funeral Home, 345 6th Ave SE in Winnebago. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at 11:00 AM, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Winnebago, with Fr. Peter Klein officiating.  Private family burial will be in Jackson Lake Lutheran Cemetery, Amboy, MN.  Web tributes may be left at www.spencerowen.com Della was born October 27, 1937, in Winnebago, the daughter of Henry Otto and Mary Ellen (Carroll) Hopp. She was united in marriage to Leo B. Haroldson on December 29, 1960 in Winnebago. Della was a homemaker, mother and farmed with Leo in rural Amboy. After Leo’s passing in 1991, her sons continued working the family farm where Della lived until the time of her passing. Della also worked at the Mapleton Community Home for 19 years in the laundry department until her retirement in 2009. Della was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winnebago. Della was a wonderful, happy person who always had a smile on her face. She made friends easily and loved talking to people which made her job at the nursing home a good one for her. Della was a good cook and did some sewing, making quilts for her 2 grandchildren. She loved doing things with friends and family especially going to craft shows and lunches. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. Della is survived by her sons, David and Roger Haroldson of Amboy, daughter, Cheryl (Wayne) Baumgard of Mapleton, grandson, Christopher (Marissa) Baumgard of Mapleton, granddaughter, Lisa (Nick Mortenson) Baumgard of Mapleton, one great-grandson due in November, sisters-in-law, Juanita Hopp of CA, Patricia Hopp of IA, Betty Caldwell of OR, Phyllis Haroldson of MN, and many nieces and nephews. Della was preceded in death by her husband Leo, parents, five brothers.
