Carolyn was born December 24, 1933 to L.D. and Marie (Sonnicksen) Doolittle in Winnebago MN. She grew up in the Winnebago area and graduated from Winnebago High School in 1951.  On October 18, 1952 she married Arnold Lewis…they raised three sons:  Robert, Charles and Timothy.  In 1960 they moved to Barnum/Moose Lake MN area and worked on the family dairy farm.  In 1967 they returned to Winnebago where they carried out the rest of their years.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago;  a member of the Presbyterian Women’s association, member of the Church choir, worked at Next to New and an organizer of the church kitchen. Carolyn was an avid gardener; growing flowers and vegetables and then canning those vegetables and giving many quarts of green beans to all her family.  Her homemade dill pickles and cinnamon bread were favorites of the family.  Her flower garden was her joy, she worked many hours out there and was always sharing bouquets with friends and brightening the church sanctuary with them.  She and Arnold enjoyed going to dances, singing and playing 500 in card club.  She was also a big Twins fan.

Left to cherish such wonderful memories are her children;  Sons: Robert (Suzanne) Lewis of Morristown, MN, Charles (Nancy) Lewis of Delavan, MN, and Timothy (Julie) Lewis of Owatonna, MN,  Daughter: Carol Jansen of McGregor, MN.  Seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her sisters: Ardie (Al) Farnes, Judy (Herb) Whitney, Darlene (Art) Allison, brother:  David (Claudia Taylor) Doolittle, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold and daughters-in-law Cindy Lewis and Carol Lewis.
