Carol Jo Petty

Carol Jo Petty, age 84 of Amboy, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Funeral services will be held at Spencer Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago at 2 PM on Friday, March 29, 2024. A time for visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery, Amboy.

Carol was born on October 17, 1939 in Carmel, California to Alfredo Carzino and Elaine Fillmore. She graduated from high school and then spent many years working in the restaurant industry. Carol ended her career as restaurant manager at Round Table Pizza. On April 22, 2006, Carol married Donald Lee Petty in Reno, Nevada. The couple would later relocate to the Amboy area.

Carol was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her life and enjoyed watching all the nature in her own backyard. Birds, squirrels, and flowers brought her much joy. She also loved her family.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Don; children, Mary Breckenridge of Antioch, CA, and DuRay Jelinek of Clayton, CA; step-children, Brian Petty, Valerie Hall, Donelle Petty, Aaron Lane, Deana Squires, Devin Petty, and Denise Sherfield; brother, David; 35 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Dovalee Jelink.
