Candice Paubla Lopez

Candice Lopez, age 29, of Winnebago passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Mayo Clinic Methodist Campus in Rochester.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winnebago. Visitation times will be held from 5-8pm on Monday at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Candice Paubla Lopez was born in Kimball, Nebraska on March 21, 1990 to Candelario and Esther (Celestino) Lopez. She attended Blue Earth Area Schools. Candice worked at Dairy Queen and Subway.

Candice was so friendly and had the biggest heart. She loved dancing, singing, and listening to music. She also enjoyed drawing, shopping, and all things beauty. She liked to enjoy nature by going on walks and watching the river flow. Candice enjoyed having fun with friends, and she loved them like family. She loved her family dearly, and her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart.

Candice is survived by her mother, Esther; siblings, Jerome Lopez of Colorado, Nella (DJ) Otto of Winnebago, and April (Elmer) Zavala of Cleveland, MN; sister-in-law, Lisa Lopez; nieces, Raelin Lopez, Dayana Enriquez, Emma Otto, and Isandra Lopez; nephews, Justin Lopez, Elias Lopez, Christopher Otto, Davian Enriquez, and Sylus Otto; great-nephews, Estevan Lopez and Alejandro Lopez; boyfriend, Clifton Gray; her baby, her dog, Gracie; and many more friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her father, Candelario Lopez; grandmothers, Manuela Celestino and Yenocencia Lopez; grandfather, Geronimo Lopez, Sr.; uncle, Geronimo Lopez, Jr.; and nephew, Demetrio Sontay-Lopez.
