September 21, 2010 Mankato Arnold Henry “Bud” Toupal Arnold Henry “Bud” Toupal, age 83, of Mankato, formerly of Winnebago, died on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Laurels Peak in Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:30 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Winnebago with Father Leo Koppala officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home, Winnebago and continuing one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. www.spencerowen.com Arnold “Bud” Toupal was born on October 30, 1926 at Olivia, Minnesota the son of Henry and Rose (Ocenasek) Toupal. Bud came to Blue Earth, Minnesota at a young age and moved to the Riverside Golf Course where he helped his dad as a greens keeper. Bud attended Winnebago High School until he joined the Navy, serving during WWII. In 1949 Bud married Lillian Sickler, of Delavan. Bud worked as a postal employee for 38 years serving both the Huntley and Winnebago areas. Bud and Lillian resided in Winnebago for 59 years before moving to Mankato in 2009. Bud enjoyed sports, fishing and he was a member of the Winnebago American Legion Post #82 and the Winnebago Fire Department for many years. Bud is survived by his wife, Lillian of Mankato; daughter, Dianne (Marvin) Terry of Bricelyn; daughter, Nancy (special friend, Lon Youngerberg) Engelby of Mankato; daughter, Sheila Toupal of Bloomington; son, Gordon (Karen) Toupal of Fairmont; son, Ronald (Paula) Toupal of New Brighton; brother, Marvin (Lois) Toupal of Renville; brother, Henry Toupal of Scottsdale, Arizona; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Toupal; sister-in-law Jeanette Toupal; nephew, James Toupal.
