Celissa Elizabeth Foster was born on March 7, 1917, to Ralph and Edna (Nienow) Jenkins at Bass Lake, rural Winnebago, one of eight children. On December 10, 1938, she married Fred Foster at the Methodist parsonage in Waseca. The couple farmed near Winnebago until 1976 when they retired and moved into Winnebago. They shared 54 years of marriage until Fred passed away in 1993. She was a member of the Winnebago Presbyterican Church and belonged to various church circles and home extension groups. In 2006 she moved to Hutchinson, MN. Celissa enjoyed being with family including her grandchildren and great grandchildren and having coffee with friends. She grew beautiful geraniums and liked to make cookies and desserts.
Celissa is survived by her son, Dale (Ardis) Foster of Winnebago; daughter, DeeAnn (Richard) Crosby of Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Gary (Karen) Foster; Scott (Lori) Foster; Steven (Kim) Crosby; Jennifer (Tom) Perusse; Carrie (Jon) Bach; eleven great grandchildren and a sister, Iris Jahnke.
Celissa was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Ralph, Russell, and Harlan Jenkins; sisters, Olive (in infancy), Iola Webb, Ruby Anderson, step-sisters, Christina Reynolds and Charlotte Carsten; grandson, Terry Foster.
