Marion G. Kogel May 28, 2010 Winnebago Marion Kogel age 95, of Winnebago died on Friday, May 28, 2010 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winnebago with Father Mark McNea officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 31, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago with a rosary starting at 7:30. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Marion was born on October 21, 1914, at Fairmont, Minnesota, the daughter of Lewis and Florence (Hall) Mackie. Marion was raised and educated in rural Winnebago. She married Cecil Kogel on February 5, 1940. Marion was a caregiver for her mother up until her passing in 1986. Marion was a true farmer’s wife enjoying baking, canning, gardening, and embroidering. Marion was a lifetime member of the Verona Ladies Club and St. Mary’s Catholic Rosary Society. She loved her family and enjoyed the company of others. She will be truly missed by all whose life she touched. Marion is survived by her daughters, Florence (Don) Wishman of Huntley; Ruthie (Chuck) Schunlenburg of Huntley; Kathy (Dale) Wiederholt of Winnebago; Linda (Larry) Bosma of Arlington, Texas; Debbie Wingard of Sugar Land, Texas; sister, Leona “Mackie” Martin and her children Jim, Steven, Brad (Penny) Martin all of Rochester; sister-in-law, Helen Denton of Atlanta, Geroga; brother-in-law Gordon Kogel of Woonsocket, South Dakota; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Phillip Kogel; brothers, Lewis “Bud” and Harland Mackie; sister, Julia Hendricks.
