Robert T. Graf
Services for Robert “Bob” T. Graf, 86, of Amboy, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Vernon Center, with Father Brian Sutton officiating. Burial will be held following mass in the church cemetery.
Graf died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Hill Crest Nursing Home in Mankato. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago, and one hour prior to mass at the church. A rosary service will start at 4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Robert Thomas Graf was born July 11, 1923, in LaCrosse, Wis., to Joseph and Mary (Horihen) Graf. After he graduated from Caledonia High School in 1941, he worked at the family feed mill. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served until the end of World War II. In 1950, he started Graf’s Home Furnishings with his father in Amboy and in 1955 married Mary C. (Leffel) Johnson. The couple enjoyed traveling across the United States, especially visits to Branson, Mo., to see country music shows.
He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Vernon Center.
Survivors include: wife, Mary Graf of Amboy; son, Jerry Graf and wife, Sandy, of Amboy; granddaughters Callie Graf and Crystal (Graf) Hardinger and husband, Mark, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brothers, John Graf and wife, Judy, of Cameron, Wis., Donald Graf and wife, Nancy, of Kingston, Okla., and sister, Rose Ellen (Graf) Jacobus and husband, Ronald, of East Wenatchee, Wash.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
