Louie H. Kleen age 89, of Mankato, formerly of Amboy died on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Mankato House in Mankato. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 11:00AM at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Winnebago. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Louie was born on November 4, 1920 at Shelby Township, the son of Fred and Mary (Lohmann) Kleen. Louie was raised and educated in rural Amboy. He served in the United States Army in Iceland in 1945. Louie married Helen Lien on December 28, 1948 in Winnebago. The two farmed for many years in rural Amboy until retiring to Amboy. Louie moved to the Mankato House in March of 2010. Louie was a long time member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago. Louie enjoyed Fishing, gardening and woodworking.
Louie is survived by his wife, Helen Kleen of Mankato formerly of Amboy; brother, Donald Kleen of Bruner, MO; 3 sister-in-laws, 4 nieces, 4 nephews, 4 great great nephews and 1 great great niece.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harold, Herman and Ehno Kleen sister, Elsie Hase and 1 nephew.
