Alvin Martin Boeck, age 88, of North Mankato, formerly of Amboy died on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at North Point Assisted Living in North Mankato. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amboy with Rev. Vance Milbrath officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Amboy. Alvin was born on December 8, 1920 in rural Amboy to Henry and Johanna (Wollchlager) Boeck. Alvin was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. He attended parochial school at Willow Creek. He was drafted in to the U.S. Navy (Sea Bees). He was sent to Pearl Harbor for 14 months. On October 20, 1946 he was united in marriage to Genevieve Schneeberger at St. Paul Luther Church in Amboy. The couple farmed in Willow Creek until 1964, at which time they moved to Amboy. Alvin’s work consisted of faming, driving for the Lutheran School in Willow Creek and serving on the School Board, Trucking for Hodgmons. He was a mechanic for Kranz, worked with the Amboy Police and the City Maintenance of Amboy. In 2000 he and his wife moved to North Point in North Mankato.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Genevieve of North Mankato; three daughter, Jane Schreader, of Mankato; Delores (Eugene Wee) Boeck of Lawrence, KS; Deborah (Paul)Young of North Mankato; four grandchildren; Amy, Jerry, Damon, and Michael; two great grandchildren; and one brother Gerhard Boeck of Winnebago.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister.
