Patricia Joan (Patti) McCreary, 83, of Winnebago, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Pleasant Manor in Faribault, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago, with Rev. William Sabol officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation time will be one hour before the service at the church.
Patti was born in Aroma Township, Kankakee County, Illinois, to Herman and Pearl Jensen on June 4, 1933. She attended Winnebago High School and graduated in 1951. She was baptized at St. Ansgar Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kankakee, confirmed at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago and married Cleo McCreary on August 12, 1952. After farming for several years, they made their home in Winnebago with their four children, Garry, Larry, Paula and Pamela.
Patti is a former board member of the Winnebago Area Museum, and the Riverside Cemetery Board, where she proudly volunteered for decades. She had a passion for genealogy, and helped countless families trace their origins. Before retiring she was employed by the Mauris Accounting Firm in Winnebago.
Patti is survived by her sister Janet Kiehm of Mankato, MN; her twin sons; Garry (Cheryl) McCreary of Plymouth, MN; Larry (Jan) McCreary of Faribault, MN; her daughter Paula (John) Lubitz of Colorado Springs, CO; her daughter Pamela (Gary) Young of Eden Prairie, MN; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law and lifetime friend Jo Craigh of Cerritos, CA.
Patti was preceded in death by her husband Cleo; her parents, Herman and Pearl Jensen; and her sisters Ardis Boone and June Beaupre.
