Winnebago July 31, 2009 Mary Pauline Cross Mary Cross, age 89, of Winnebago, died Friday, July 31, 2009, at Parker Oaks in Winnebago. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at 11:00 AM, at The 1st United Methodist Church in Winnebago. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00O PM at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago and continuing one hour prior to services at the Church on Wednesday. In Honor of Mary the family requests that you wear your favorite hat. Mary was born at Bloomington, Ill, on April 18, 1920 to William McDuff and Pearl (Fox) Davidson. She was the last of seven siblings. Mary came to Delavan, MN with her family at the age of two. The family lived in the area for 20 years. Mary graduated from Delavan High School in 1938. She married Warren Cross in 1939, they moved to Vernon Center, MN for 3 years, and then moved to Mapleton, MN for 3 more years. They moved back to the Huntley Winnebago area where they bought a farm and lived there until 1973. They moved into Winnebago where Mary worked in several stores; Anderson Department, Super Value Grocery, Beaches Bakery, and at Teiglans Clothing store for 23 years. Mary was a member of the Methodist Church, and enjoyed being with friends and family, cooking, playing cards and volunteering at Parker Oaks. Mary is survived by her sons: Roger (Heidi) Cross of Carthage Missiouri, Jim (Linda) Cross of Howard, SD, John (Donna) Cross of Plymouth, and Jerry of Winnebago; daughter, Maggie Ersted of Mankato; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, and one daughter-in-law, Teresa Cross.
