MILDRED MAVIS (SHOUTS) DAY, 100, of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, September 15, 2016, at The Beacon (Ecumen) in Lake Crystal.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at 10:30 AM, at Garden City Christian Church in Garden City, with Rev. Mark & Kathy Enan officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Amboy. Visitation time will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Spencer Owen Funeral Home, 345 6th Ave SE in Winnebago, and hour prior to the service at the church. Mildred was born August 7, 1916, at North Mankato, the daughter of Bert and Edythe (Abels) Shouts. On February 26th, 1939 Mildred married Franklin Day at Garden City Christian Church.
Mildred was a long time member of the Rebecca’s Lodge of Amboy, loved gardening, cooking, sewing, puzzles, bingo, and making corn cob dolls.
Mildred is survived by children, Don (Peggy) Day of Blue Earth, Mavis (David) Kietzer of Lake Crystal, and Kathy Wood of Bloomington; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Jobe; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Shouts.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin; son, Ronald; parents; brothers, Clifford, Stanley, Melvin; and sisters, Florence Kunz and Dorothy Poulson.
