Harley Langworthy, age 84, of Delavan, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. Memorial services will be held on May 9, 2009 at Bass Lake Church in Winnebago at 10:30AM with Bonnie Roys officiating. Burial will be in Lura Cemetery in Easton. Visitation time will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, on Friday May 8, 2009 at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago and continuing one hour prior to service at the church. Harley was born September 07, 1924, in Blue Earth County, the son of Glen and May (Megaw) Langworthy. Harley graduated from Delavan High School in 1942. He married his wife Beth (Chaffee) on February 19, 1947 in Easton. Harley farmed in the Delavan area for many years. He was a Director of Shelby Insured of Amboy and measured for the Government Farm Program for many years. Harley was also a member of the Bass Lake Church since 1940.
Harley is survived by his wife, Beth Langworthy of Delavan, his son, Jerry Langworthy of Delavan, his Daughter, Shirley(Michael) Stefanski of Plymouth, his sister, Helen Whitney of Delavan and many nieces and nephews.
Harley was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, Wayne Whitney and Roger Chaffee and one son and one daughter at birth.
