PETER “PETE” JOHN STALOCH, age 63, of Winnebago, died Sunday, February 21, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home, 345 Sixth Avenue SE, Winnebago, MN Wednesday, February 24 from 5-7 PM with a Rosary being said at 7:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 25 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Winnebago with visitation one hour before. Web tributes may be left at www.spencerowen.com Peter John Staloch was born November 30, 1952 to John and Jean (McCormick) Staloch in Winnebago, Minnesota. Pete was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Winnebago. He graduated from Winnebago High School in 1972. Peter worked at Stokely Van Camp in 8th grade. He then worked for Neil Granberg part-time for a couple of years as well as other miscellaneous jobs. In 1979 Pete moved to Mapleton, Minnesota where he worked for Krengel Brothers for 38 years until his retirement in 2012. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing and ice fishing trips to Lake of the Woods. He also loved warm beer in the winter and cold beer in the summer. Pete is survived by two brothers; Mike Staloch of North Mankato, MN and Bob Staloch of Winnebago, MN and his special friend Caroline Olson of Fairmont, four sisters; Margie Hanenberger of Winnebago, Kathy Kuhns of Winnebago, Mary Barker, Winnebago and Patty (Jason) Gullord of Frost, MN, brother-in-law Terry Walters of Mapleton, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jean Staloch and his sister Teresa Walters of Mapleton, as well as his grandparents. Pete’s famous words, “Have a good day!”
