Bonnie Ann Rennpferd, 75, of Amboy passed away January 23, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic Health Care System of Mankato.
Funeral Service will be 11 AM, Friday January 29, 2016 at the United Methodist Church of Amboy, with visitation 9:30 AM - 11 Am at the church. Burial will be at the Vernon Center Cemetery.
She was born February 24, 1940 to William and Alice (Kienholtz) Rennpferd in Winnebago, MN. Bonnie was baptized and confirmed at the Amboy United Methodist Church and graduated valedictorian in 1958 from Amboy High School.
After graduation, Bonnie attended Teachers College at Mankato State and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree.
She began teaching in Kenyon for her first five years, then in Owatonna for 30 more years. Her passion for teaching and tutoring children continued throughout her life.
Bonnie was a member of the Red Hat Society, Amboy Book Club and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed reading and feeding the neighborhood cats and skunks! She will be remembered for her generosity toward others and her community, as well as the valuing and rewarding those who took their education seriously.
She is survived by her brother, Bill Rennpferd of the Mapleton Community Home; first cousins, Bev (Fred) Dase and families of AZ; Fred (Robin Pettit) Rennpferd and families of Freeborn and Amboy; and many extended family and friends.
