Joanne Boone, 89, of Mankato, formerly of Winnebago, died Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Cottagewood Memory Care in Mankato. Joann Hyatt Boone, 89, was born January 20, 1926 and died December 12, 2015. A visitation is scheduled 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday December 17, at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago. Inurnment will be at the Eastside Cemetery in Estherville Iowa. Joann was born to Myrtle and Alvin Hyatt in Bristow Oklahoma. She graduated high school in 1944 in Oklahoma. She married Ralph E. Boone April 29, 1948 in Winthrop MN. Joann worked as a secretary at Hill Packing Company in Estherville IA, Green Giant Co, and Telex Corporation in Blue Earth MN. Electro Craft in Winnebago MN, and sold pull tabs at the Moose Lodge in Mankato. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Winnebago, served as President and Treasurer for the VFW Auxiliary in Estherville IA, also President and Secretary of the VFW Auxiliary in Blue Earth MN. Joann was a past member of Women of the Moose, and American Legion Auxiliary in Mankato. She enjoyed traveling, camping, sewing and fishing. Joann is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; both parents; sister and brother. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Keith) Nowak; son, Daniel (Louisa) Boone; sister, Hazel Cline; three grandchildren; Christopher (Susan), Amber, Brandon; four great-grandchildren, Kadyn, Teagan, Calijah, and Taryn.
