Delavan March 24, 2009 Richard K. Warren Richard Warren, age 83, of Delavan, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, at 11:00 AM, at United Methodist Church in Delavan, with Rev. Lora Sturm officiating. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Wednesday April 1. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday March 30, at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago, and continuing one hour prior to service at the church. Richard was born November 13, 1925, in Windom, MN, the son of Parker and Genevieve (Davis) Warren. Richard was raised and educated in Delavan. He was drafted into the Army in November 1944. He married Gertrude (Trudi) Schwarz in 1952 in Salzburg, Austria. He served in WWII, the Korean, and Vietnam War. Richard was stationed at many military bases until his retirement in 1966, and then moved to Delavan. Richard owned many rental properties in the Delavan area. Richard also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Edward Holt American Legion Post #486, the VFW Post #4580 of Blue Earth and he was a Disabled American Veterans member. Richard Warren is survived by his Son, Richard Jr. (Cindy) Warren, of Eden Prairie, MN and his Daughters, Peggy (Bo) Giltner of Bow, WA, Linda (T.C.) Parker of Hoquiam, WA, Elaine (Brian) Hulstrand of Willmar, MN, Lisa (Martin) Weis of Brooklyn Center, MN, his Step-Brother Arden (Iris) Fitzgerald of Rushford, MN. Richard is also survived by his 10 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grand Children. Richard is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife,and Step-Brother Merrill.
