KATHLEEN “KATHY” WITTE, age 74, of Blue Earth, formerly of Winnebago, died Friday, August 28, 2015, at St Lukes Lutheran Home.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel at St Lukes in Blue Earth, with Rev. Michael Roys officiating. Visitation time will be 1 hour before the service at the chapel. Web tributes may be left at www.spencerowen.com
She was born April 20, 1941, at Dupree, SD the daughter of David and Carrie (Jenkins) Meile. She grew up in Isabel, SD, graduating from Isabel High School and Northern State Teachers College, Aberdeen, SD. Kathy went on to teach school in Isabel and Kenosha, WI. She was a Worthy Patron of Eastern Star in Winnebago, nominated for state office in Eastern Star, but her multiple sclerosis flared up and she was unable to continue. She was elected Queen of St. Lukes by the staff and residents.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago and her hobbies included sewing, gardening, and teaching crafts in her home.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Witte of Winnebago, brother, Marvin (Pamela) Meile of Ulysses, KS, sister-in-laws, Jeanne Witte, Helen Symms, nephews, Chris Meile, David Meile, Nathan Meile, Jonathan Witte, nieces, Jenene Craig, Charlene McGrath, Jennifer Peer, Kate Jones, and Victoria Schultz.
