ARLENE BERNICE PAHL, age 92, of Amboy, died Friday, June 19, 2015, at the Mapleton Community Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at St Peter's Lutheran Church in Vernon Center, with Rev. Monte Meyer officiating. Arlene was born October 4, 1922, on the home farm near Good Thunder, Minnesota to Edward and Bessie (Averill) Oachs. She received her education at the Good Thunder School. On October 7, 1939, Arlene was united in marriage to Lewis Pahl at the Little Brown Church near Algona, Iowa. They made their home together in the Amboy-Vernon Center area, where Arlene enjoyed raising their family in the simple farm life. She was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. Arlene loved her pets, enjoyed gardening and flowers, crocheting, quilting, and she especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survivied by six children, Eugene "Tuffy" Pahl of Amboy, MN, Kay Pahl of CA, Timothy Pahl of Amboy, Tammy (Jim) Gathman of Rochester, Scotty Pahl of Amboy, and Cindy (Denny) McClain of Winnebago; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lewis Pahl on November 18, 2000; two sons, Lonnie and Gerald; one grandchild; and four brothers.
