Evelyn (Ev) M Owen

Evelyn (Ev) Owen passed away on November 17, 2014 at age 87 after a long battle with dementia. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, with Rev Tom Butler Officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00a.m. until the service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the Winnebago Museum or First Baptist Church in Winnebago. Online condolence can be made at www.spencerowen.com Ev was born on May 6, 1927 to J. W. (Bill) Foster and Jessie (Mapson) Foster in Winnebago. Mom loved to crochet and paint; her kids were the very lucky recipients of her art work and her afghans. Mom was a fabulous cook; she especially loved cooking when the family was home. Mom would stand back and listen as we would all be talking at once around the kitchen table. She was most comfortable when she was in the kitchen. We also remember how she loved to “yodel” when she was at her sister's supper club. Her brother-in-law would play the organ and Mom would yodel. We would laugh! Mom volunteered at the Winnebago Area Museum. She so loved the Museum. Mom is survived by her children, Lynn (Lola), Atwater, MN, Linda (Keith Luegge), Sheridan, WY, Steve (Connie), Birmingham, AL, Jeffrey (Mary), Rochester, MN, Wendy (Rich Berndt), Elko, MN, grandchildren, Keith Owen, Brian Luegge, John and Jim Owen, Tami Thompson, Kristine Katona, Mike and Rebecca Owen, great grandchildren, Libby, Lauren & Walker Thompson. Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, grandson Mark Luegge, parents and siblings, Earl, Marion, Donald, Violet, Cleo, Robert, Warren, Arlene, and Keith.
