Lillian M. McCall, age 95, of Winnebago, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Parker Oaks in Winnebago.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Winnebago. Lillian was born on January 12, 1919 in Vernon Center, MN the daughter of John and Amalia (Schinski) Wendt. She graduated from Amboy public school and Mankato State College where she earned bachelor’s degree in education. She taught in rural schools near Amboy and for over 20 years in the Delavan school. She was married to Verle M. McCall on June 21, 1942 in San Diego, CA. Lillian was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior where she was active in LWML. She loved being a homemaker and she enjoyed cooking, baking and her gardens.
Lillian is survived by her son, Michael McCall of Rapidan, daughter, Leslie (Lawrence) Haugen of Stewart, daughter, Carol (Tony) Nelson of Sandstone, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband – Verle in 1997, sister, Ruth Johnson and brothers: John, Eldore, Herbert & Donald Wendt.
