Lorraine Lambert

Alice Lorraine Lambert, age 86, passed away peacefully March 1, 2014, at Parker Oaks Community, Winnebago, Minn. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Parker Oaks Community Center, Winnebago. Interment will be in the spring at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Princeton, Minn. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home of Winnebago is in charge of the arrangements. Lorraine was born May 19, 1927 in Little Pine Township, Northern Minn. to Ernest and Alice Inez (Yoemans) Kile. She grew up in Northern Minnesota and was schooled in a one-room log school that converted to a church on Sundays. Her family moved to the Minneapolis area and on July 24, 1949, she married Carl A. Lambert in Minneapolis. The couple resided in the Minneapolis area and in 1971, they moved to a hobby farm northwest of Winnebago, Minn. In 1979, they moved into Winnebago. Lorraine was a cook at the Winnebago Baptist Home and then at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. She retired in 1989. Lorraine resided at Parker Oaks since December 2008. She was an active member of Starlight Rebekah #11 of Winnebago and served as Past Noble Grand in 1985 and l991. She was a life member of DAV Auxiliary South Central #32, Parker Oaks Resident Council member, and a past auxiliary member of the Adolescent Treatment Center (ATC) of Winnebago. Lorraine was an avid collector and reader of hundreds of books including cook books, loved crossword puzzles, but her true passion was crocheting. She gifted thousands of small Christmas stockings to the Luverne Veterans Home, ATC of Winnebago, Parker Oaks, and others. She donated many afghans for fundraisers for area organizations. Lorraine will be remembered for her love of coffee, her quick wit, warm and welcoming smile, and the caring she showed to her family and friends. Lorraine is survived by brothers, Loyd Kile of Minneapolis, Minn. and Alan Kile of Crosby, Minn., several nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl in January 26, 2008; sisters, Eileen and Shelia; and brothers, Steven, Robert, and Keith.
