Dewey Zuhlsdorf, age 59, of Winnebago, died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, with Father Peter Klein officiating. Dewey was born June 29, 1954, in Mankato, the son of Jerome (Sr.) and Marguerite (West) Zuhlsdorf. He was raised in the Mankato area where he attended school. He was married to Joan T. McCluhan on April 22, 1989 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Dewey served in the U.S. Marines and returned where he worked in various positions before going to work at Northstar Concrete for 13 years as a ready mix dispatcher. He also was a talented carpenter and was a self employed carpenter for several years. Dewey was well known for his superior vegetable gardens. He enjoyed canning his produce, hunting, fishing and cutting wood. He was really a modern day mountain man living in the Midwest. He especially enjoyed time with his son, other family and friends.
Dewey is survived by his wife, Joan Zuhlsdorf, his son, Alex Zuhlsdorf, his brothers: Jerry Zuhlsdorf, Kevin Zuhlsdorf, Randy (Brenda) Zuhlsdorf, Ricky Zuhlsdorf and his sisters, Karen (Steve) Hlavac, Vicky Halbmaier, Kerri Graham and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tony West and a nephew, Brian West.
