Frances Cory

Frances M. "Fran" Cory, age 98, of Winnebago, died Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Parkview Care Center in Wells. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, with Father Peter Klein officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation time will be from 9:00 AM until service time at the church on Thursday. J. and Monica (Yokiel) Neubauer. Fran was raised and educated in Wells where she was a 1932 graduate of Wells High School. She was married to Linus “Len” Cory on December 30, 1941 in Wells. The couple farmed south of Wells for many years where Fran helped farm and also grew vegetable and flower gardens, canned and baked, did embroidery work and enjoyed playing the piano. She also enjoyed fishing and looking after her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of St. Casimir’s Catholic Church where she was active in CCW. The couple moved to Winnebago in 1983 and became members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Fran is survived by her son, Chuck (Yvonne) Cory of Easton, her son, Pat (Karen) Cory of Wells, her daughter, Joan (Barry) Rockvam of Redwood Falls, seven grandchildren: Chad, Joe, Chris, Lori, Steve, Beth & Brent and thirteen great grandchildren: Adam, Devin, Ethan, Chelsey, Dusty, Emily, Kailey, Thomas, Sam, Megan, Ben, Ashlyn, and Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Len in 1994 and two sisters, Loretta Staloch and Berniece Flynn.
