Hazel I Brush age 83 of Winnebago passed away Monday January 21, 2013 at Parker Oaks Communities. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago, with Rev Michael Roys officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00pm Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Spencer Owen Funeral home in Winnebago, and 1 hour before the service at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.spencerowen.com Hazel was born March 5, 1929 to Hazel (Ramey) and Claus Walterman in Grand Meadow, Minnesota. On July 22, 1951 she married Robert Brush. They made their lifelong home in Winnebago. Hazel will be remembered as a life- long caregiver. She worked as a nurse at the Winnebago Hospital until it closed in 1979; she then began working for St Luke’s Care Center in Blue Earth until her retirement. Hazel is survived by her daughter Nancy Owen of Winnebago, son Bill Brush of Delevan, daughter Laurie Efron and husband Mark of Golden Valley, granddaughter Stephanie and her husband Bob Fitzgerald of Sheboygan WI, Grandson Corey Owen of Stokesdale NC and 3 great granddaughters. Brother Leland Walterman of Jackson, sisters Edith Mae Sands and husband Ron of Alpha, Jean Henrichson and husband Brad of Blue Earth, sister in law Mildred Yeager of Amboy and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donald and Bonnie Brush of Cheyenne, WY. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, brother Leon, brother-in-law Donald Yeager, and son-in-law Dennis Owen.
