Bonnie Classon, age 82, of Winnebago, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at United Hospital District, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago, with Rev. Michael Roys officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago. Bonnie was born July 3, 1929, in Winnebago, MN, the daughter of Stanley and Emma (Ritter) Holtz. She was raised and educated in Winnebago where she was a 1948 graduate of Winnebago High School. She attended Mankato Business College and was later married to Arvid V. Classon on June 3, 1949 in Winnebago. Arvid was an accountant as Stokely Van Camp and Bonnie was the personelle manager for the company for over 20 years. Bonnie was also a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago where she was active in church circle. She was also a longtime member of the Winnebago American Legion Auxiliary. In the spring, for many years, Bonnie & Arvid travelled to Branson, MO. where they enjoyed several shows; sometimes returning in the fall for more. They were wonderful hosts for family gatherings, often wrapping presents for prizes at family bingo and setting a beautiful table. She loved to read stories to her niece & nephews and neighbor kids too. She was an excellent baker and was famous for her cookies and buns at family gatherings.
Bonnie is survived by her sister, Helen Roe of Winnebago, her brother in law, Howard (Alla) Classon of Rose Creek, her brother in law, Gary (Eileen) Classon of Lakeland, her sister in law, Verna (Dennis) Johnson of Owatonna, several wonderful nieces & nephews, many great nieces & nephews and great great nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arvid in 2011, brother-in-law, Wilbur Roe and niece, Barb Wagner.
