R. Dudley Krause, age 82, of Winnebago, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at his home in Winnebago. A life celebration service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Winnebago. Visistation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago and one hour prior to services at the church. Private family burial will be held following the reception.
R. Dudley Krause was born September 22, 1929 the son of Raymond “Ray” and Thelma (Cline) Krause in Truman, MN. He attended Truman schools and graduated from Hamlin University in 1951. In 1953 he married Evelyn Canon and they set up residence in Winnebago, where Dudley was working at First National Bank in Winnebago. Dudley worked throughout his career in the bank, serving in leadership roles and becoming President in family ownership. Dudley has been committed to his community, devoting hours of leadership and volunteerism. He has been an active member at First Baptist Church and served on the board of American Baptist Homes of the Midwest for 34 years.
Dudley is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Winnebago: children, Steven (Becky) Krause, David (Ann) Krause, Lyndon (Lana) Krause, all of Winnebago; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Pat Jones and Alice Jordahl and granddaughter, Olivia Gail Krause.
Memorials will be given to local Winnebago organizations in support of the community he loved.
