RICHARD LEE “DICK” SCOTT, age 77, of Winnebago, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at United Hospital, Blue Earth. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at Parker Oaks in Winnebago, with Rev. Vic Vriesen officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Winnebago. Dick was born September 24, 1934, in Winnebago, MN, the son of Earl and Rosa Mae (Pitcher) Scott. He attended schools and later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He lived and worked in Winnebago at Stokley-Van Camp until it closed in 1979. He worked at the Elmore Nursery planting trees and at the Fairmont canning factory until it closed in the 1980’s.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Scott, Sr. in 1951, his mother, Rosa Mae in 1983, step-brothers: Clayton Pitcher, Earl Scott, Jr., Guy Scott, Henry Scott, Sr., step-sisters: Marjorie Racho, Faye Larson and Lois Smith.
Dick is survived by a step-sister, Ramona Griffing of Kalispell, Montana, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
