He was born September 30, 1926, at Amboy, MN, the son of Clifford & Hilda (Schweider) Brush. He lived in Amboy until he enlisted in the Navy. On July 22, 1951 he married Hazel Walterman in Jackson, MN. They made their home in Winnebago. Bob worked at Stokley Van Camp until he retired.
Bob's greatest accomplishments and proudest
moments came after his retirement. He loved fishing and hunting and he also cared deeply for improving these
environments.
Bob became an avid conservationist. He was
passionate in his work to improve the water quality of the area lakes. He was relentless in his pursuit of raising money for the Lura Lake reclamation project. Bob's first project soon blossomed into the quad lakes project. Bob enjoyed the Lake Fair and chatting with anyone and
everyone who would walk by. He loved the week prior to the Lake Fair. This is the time he and his team of
volunteers would share their love and passion of fishing with the areas school children.
Bob's only hope would be the momentum he created could be carried forward with the generations to come.
Bob is survived by is wife of 60 years, Hazel (Walterman), Daughter, Nancy Owen of Winnebago, son Bill Brush of Delevan and daughter Laurie Efron and
husband Mark of Golden Valley. He is also survived by sister Mildred Yeager of Amboy and brother Donald Brush and wife Bonnie of WY. Grandchildren Stephanie
Fitzgerald and husband Bob of Sheboygan WI., Corey Owen of Stokesdale, NC, and 3 great-granddaughters.
