Douglas Keith Jordan passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2011 at his home, at the age of 59 years 9 months and 29 days.
A memorial visitation will be 4:00pm-6:00pm Friday November 18, 2011 at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago, MN. A graveside service will be 10:00am Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Riverside Cemetery in Winnebago, with Rev. Michael Roys officiating.
Doug was born on November 9, 1951 in Winnebago, MN the youngest child of Percy and Mildred Jordan. Doug graduated with the class of 1971 at Winnebago High School. He was a heavyweight wrestler in high school and a member of the FFA. After graduation Doug stayed at home and helped his parents on the farm.
Doug was a member of and was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian Church in Winnebago. Auctions and estate sales were an enjoyment and past time for Doug. Doing this he acquired a vast assortment of antiques of various categories. In 1989 he attended auctioneer school at Continental Auctioneers School of Auctioneering in Mankato and achieved his auctioneer license in February of 1990. He enjoyed helping at sales with local auctioneers. Another interest of Doug’s was of his family’s history and he made many visits to the local museum and library gathering information. Doug spent many hour’ playing cards at Crosby Oil in Winnebago with "the guys".
Doug is survived by sister Carmon Skogstad of Fort Ripley, MN brothers Dale of Winnebago, Paul (Elaine) of Fresno, CA, sister-in-law Marj Jordan of Sebeka, MN, 8 nieces, 3 nephews, uncle Albert Jordan, aunts Nympha Jordan, and Ann Jordan.
He was preceded in death by parents Percy and Mildred Jordan, infant sister, and brothers Richard and Calvan, sister-in-law Marlene Jordan, brother-in-law Lloyd Skogstad.
