Wallace A. “Wally” Thompson, age 80, of Winnebago, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at his home. Memorial services will be held at 11: 00 AM on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Patton Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth.

Wallace “Wally” was raised in Elmore, MN and was a lifelong resident of Faribault County.
Wally was married to Darlene “Dolly” Brakke at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa on October 13, 1954. Wally graduated from Elmore High School, attended William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul and practiced law in Winnebago for over thirty years. Wally will be remembered for his love of family, golf and bridge- he was a life master. He took special interest in supporting troubled youth in the community through his law practice over the years.
He is survived by his son, Craig (Julie) Thompson of Burnsville, son, Curtis Thompson of Winnebago, daughter, Cara Thompson-Weir of Salt Lake City, Utah, and daughter, Colleen (Allen) Wendt of Amboy, MN. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Clarice Fager of Worthington, and Jo Ann Baker of Madison, Wisconsin, and a brother, Tilmer “Cotton” Thompson of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tilmer and Josephine (Prescott) Thompson, his wife, Darlene “Dolly” (Brakke) Thompson, brother, Donny Thompson, and sisters, Geraldine (Thompson) Gesche & Alice Thompson. .
