Paul Arnold Larson

PAUL ARNOLD LARSON , age 78, of Amboy, Minnesota, died unexpectedly and peacefully at his residence February 20, 2011. Funeral Services for Paul will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amboy on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Vance Milbrath presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church and also on Wednesday, February 23rd, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home, 345 6th Avenue South, Winnebago, Minnesota. Paul was born March 21, 1932 in Madelia, MN to Leonard J. and Hazel Suzanna O. (Nelson) Larson. He was raised and educated in Madelia graduating from Madelia High School in 1950. He married his lovely wife, Dorothy A. Dallman in No. Mankato on June 17, 1956. They moved to Amboy in 1956 and started a 42 year business – Paul’s Tire Service. The business remains in the family, now owned by his daughter Kim and son in law Doug. Paul also helped at a second family business, Kevin’s Lawn Care, and was the key employee. Paul will be missed at Urban Oil and Dave’s Barber Shop, he routinely gave Dave a ride home, which he enjoyed. His greatest joy in life were his grandchildren. Paul also loved buying and selling antiques and he lived for the auctions he frequented. He could be found most days running errands for family and friends, his friends will remember him well for his sense of humor and eagerness to help others. Paul belonged to the Lions Club, St. Paul Lutheran Church, and he was a dedicated member of The Weaver’s Hospice Group of Mankato since his wife’s passing in 1999. Survivors include his children; Kim (Doug) Schiefelbein of Amboy; David Larson of Minneapolis, Kevin (Shari Froehlich) Larson of Amboy; and his grandchildren, Candice and Cory Schiefelbein, and Michael and Levi Larson; sister in law, Shirley Warrant; and nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (1999); his parents Leonard and Hazel; his father and mother in law, Edwin and Cornelia Dallman; and his brother in law, Robert Warrant.
