Glen A. "Pete" Richison, age 86, of Winnebago, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Parker Oaks in Winnebago. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago, with Rev. Michael Roys officiating. Burial will be in Basey Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation time will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago and one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.spencerowen.com
Pete was born February 12, 1924, at Brookings, SD, the son of Thomas and Amelia (Hilabrant) Richison. His family moved to Siren, WI when he was young and there he attended schools. He later came to work near Huntley before joining the U.S. Army in 1944. He served in Germany before returning to Yuma, Arizona in 1946. There he was married to Allie Royalty. He moved back to Huntly in 1950 and was later married to Marjorie Hartman-Krause on March 9, 1974. He worked for the Eldon Springer farms for 10 years before becoming head mechanic of the packaging department at Stokely VanCamp in Winnebago and with United Foods in Fairmont. He retired in 1988. Pete enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, playing cards and dancing. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Winnebagon and the Winnebago American Legion Post.
Pete is survived by his wife, Marjorie Richison of Winnebago, his son, Gordon Richison of Huntley, his step son, Gary Krause of Winnebago, his step daughter, Jolene (Stephen) Anderson of Mankato, step-granddaughters, Lexi (Nick) Pietsch of Madelia, Brittany Anderson (Aaron Smith) of Rapidan, step-great grandchildren, Kyle & Kendall Pietsch and a sister-in-law, Gene Richison of Winterhaven, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
